Hi, I am Paul Hockaday. A few things about me!
I am a 35 year from Bodmin, Cornwall who has lived there all my life. I am happily married and have a wife who is very supportive of my photography. I enjoy taking in all the views the Cornish coast has to offer and really enjoy recording a snapshot of the moment. I joined the local Camera Club, link can be found in Links page, around 18 months ago. It was the best thing I could have done, as they are so helpful and knowledgeable. If you own a camera and have a local club, then join. They are all really helpful to people just starting out.
I started out in photography around 4 years ago. I bought myself a Nikon d3300 and soon got out snapping. I went to a 6 week course on how to use my camera and also watched a lot of youtube videos on how to take a good photo. I upgraded my camera to a d5500 a couple of years ago and was really happy with the images that I took with that.
I currently shoot with a Nikon d850, on which I use a 16-35mm EG-vr/afs lens. I also use a Sigma 35mm Art f/1.4, 50mm Art f/1.4, 105mm Macro, 150-600mm f/5.6 Contemporary large telephoto and a standard 28-300mm f/3.5 Af-s Lens.
I also use Lee filters 100mm system and have a 6, 10 and 15 stop ND filter, a set of hard grad ND filters and a set of mist filters. All from Lee filters.
My camera sits on top of my Vanguard Alta 256 Pro tripod, which is a heavy duty high extending tripod. I also have a Manfrotto travel tripod which is light in weight and easy to take on holidays etc. All that kit is kept nice and safe in my Manfrotto backpack.
For my aerial shots, I use DJI Phantom 4 drone. This is a great aircraft and adds a new perspective to my photography.
